At Bollington Pre-school, we have a friendly, well qualified and experienced team, whose priority is offering first-class care to the children in our setting.

All staff are paediatric first aid trained, and receive regular safeguarding training.

The Preschool Management Team and Administration

Shirley Sugden, Pre School Manager. CACHE NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for young peoples services, Paediatric First Aid Trained.

Shirley first  joined the Preschool committee in 2010 when she took on the role of Chairperson of the committee. During this time Shirley overlooked the move from the Methodist church to the Water Street Centre in 2012. Shirley works closely with Bollington Initiative Trust the owners of the Water Street centre and negotiated a long term lease on the building and is currently involved with the development of the centre. Shirley’s previous career was with Greater Manchester Police  and she comes to us with over 20 years of management experience.


Sandra Foster, Deputy Manager, Level 3 Early years workforce and SENDCO – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator, Paediatric First Aid Trained

Sandra  draws on her many years of experience to promote children’s play, grasping their lead and encouraging their imagination and creative thinking by guiding children to use resources to help them learn. Sandra provides additional support to children and their families and attends meetings with outside agencies.

Natalie Corbett

Natalie our fantastic business administrator, is  available to answer any queries you may have. Her calm, hardworking attitude helps ensure Bollington Pre-school runs smoothly for the benefit of our children, parents and staff

Elizabeth Hunt – Mid Day Assistant

Liz provides snacks and supports children to build their independence skills and promote their super manners. Liz will provide her expert advice to the families and the setting with regards to those children who may have allergies. or special dietary requirements.

Preschool Discoverers Room – 3-5 years

Karen Rose. BA in Early years Education specialising in linguistic skills and holds Qualified Teacher Status, Paediatric First Aid Trained

Karen has many years experience working with children in Early Years. Karen’s main passion is outdoor learning and helped design our outdoor space over the last year. Karen is our Transition  co-ordinator and our link with local schools.

Beth Ryan – currently studying NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator. Paediatric First Aid Trained

Beth initially worked at the Water Street centre for Heydays Preschool and moved to Bollington Pre school when they closed. Beth then took some time out to look after her family. Beth rejoined our team this year and is currently undergoing further training to complete her NVQ 3 Early Years Educator. Beth has a BSc in Forensic Psychology and is very caring member of the team.


Danae Parsons, NVQ Level 2  -Paediatric First aid Trained

Danae is lively and outgoing. Her boundless energy means the children can always rely on her to participate in energetic games. Danae especially enjoys Rhythm and Rhyme times with the children.

Nicola Fall, NVQ Level 3, Paediatric First Aid Trained

Nicola works in the Preschool room on a Mondays and Tuesdays, Nicola joined the Preschool in 2013.

Louise Nolan – NVQ Level 3  Early Years , Paediatric First Aid Trained

Louise initially joined Bollington Preschool whilst we were located at the Methodist Church, and returned after a short break. Louise has received Makaton training.

Becky Moores, NVQ Level 5 in Early Years, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL trained)

Becky joined the Preschool in January 2017 and comes with many years experience caring and educating children in Early Years.

Explorers room – 2-3 years 

Alison Sampson, NVQ Level 3 Early Years and Young Peoples Workforce, Paediatric First aid Trained

After many years childminding Alison joined the Preschool in 2012. Alison takes particular interest in the welfare of the children and is currently pursuing the possibility of the setting gaining the Millies Mark.

Jodie Manning, NVQ Level 3 Early Years and Young Peoples Workforce, Paediatric First Aid Trained

Jodie’s calm manner with the children is reflected in the way they respond to her. She encourages the children to do the very best they can, and they blossom under her care.

Vicki Cook, NVQ Level 2 – Currently working towards NVQ Level 3 Play work, Paediatric First Aid Trained

Vicki but her bubbly personality and enthusiasm for giving the children the best possible experience in our pre-school, shines through in her interactions with them

Sara Spencer-Norbury, Playworker, Level3-Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL trained) , Paediatric First Aid Trained

Sara brings us a wealth of knowledge on children’s play. As Leader of ‘Fun-Time’ holiday club, Sara provides continuity for those children who use the holiday club facilities. Sara has many years experience of Safeguarding practice and updates staff with their skills and knowledge on a regular basis.

Sharon Higgs – NVQ Level 3 Early years and Young Peoples workforce, Deputy SENDCO, DSL trained. Paediatric First Aid Trained

After many years as a child minder in the Bollington area, Sharon is a full time member of staff and shares her time working on a one to one basis and with all the other children within the Preschool. Sharon is a member of of the Breakfast and After school team

Sharon is also leading the Preschool holiday club and ensures the children have fun and varied activities to do during the holiday time

Emma Shore – Early Years assistant,

Emma joined the April 2017. Emma is a valued member of the team and has several years experience caring for children.
